Gocek – Fethiye Guide

Göcek is at the far end of the Gulf of Fethiye, and Fethiye is in the southeast corner of the bay. Göcek is a cute little village, while Fethiye is a large city with a population of approximately 200,000. To the south of Göcek there are magnificent and numerous small anchorages, almost all of which have restaurant piers to which they can be tied. However, this area can be extremely crowded from June to October, mostly by motor yachts, gulets and day charter boats, because the sea is flat and the winds are generally very weak. Additionally, the weather can be very hot and humid, the ideal season to visit this region is April-May or October-November.

Anchoring in Göçek bays can be difficult as most spots are deep. Göçek is half an hour’s drive from Dalaman airport and is easily accessible. Both Fethiye and Göçek have modern marinas and luxurious, albeit expensive, restaurants… The climate and sea water are slightly warmer and less windy than Marmaris.
